Practicum and thesis

Apply, measure and publish

Master students complete a 125-hour practicum and a 125-hour thesis, spread across the year alongside the courses.

1

Proposal

Research question, methods, ethics, data governance and analysis plan.

2

Practicum

50 h of supervision and 75 h of independent work in an approved setting, with an evidence log.

3

4

Defence

Oral presentation before an academic panel by 16 June 2028.

Activities involving people, identifiable data or clinical decisions take place only with the necessary ethical and institutional approvals. By default, work uses synthetic or anonymised data.
Principles

Rigour, safety and evidence

Technology is a learning context, not a substitute for evidence.

Separating science from promise

No product used as a case study is presented as clinically validated because it is used in class.

Human oversight

No model output replaces clinical responsibility or professional judgement.

Transparency with AI

AI use is declared, and references, analyses and conclusions are checked independently.

Equity and privacy

Subgroup analysis, accessibility, health data protection and respect for consent.

Academic governance

Leadership and scientific committee

The Chair is organised into four academic bodies. Members will be announced as appointments are formalised.

Chair Directorate

Academic responsibility, scientific strategy and oversight of the programmes.

Precision Health Alliance

Precision health education and expertise in professional practice cases.

International scientific committee

Experts in lifestyle medicine, clinical AI, epidemiology, validation and regulation.

Academic coordination

Teaching management, assessment, student follow-up and coordination between EIU and its partners.

Student profile

For health, science and technology professionals

Physicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, public health specialists, biomedical scientists, health technology professionals and managers. This is an academic degree: it does not confer a licence to practise clinically.

Clinical professionals

More rigorous personalisation, safe adoption of AI and better communication with patients.

Researchers

Study design, model evaluation and publication of results.

Technology and management

Implement AI, evaluate vendors and lead AI-enabled health services.
